Uhuru: I did my best for Kenya, I'll now defend my family
Retired President Uhuru Kenyatta has insisted that he did his best to defend Kenya when he was head of state.
The former President now says as a retired president, he is focused on defending his family.
Speaking on Friday, Uhuru said people might have different opinions on his time in charge but he knows he did the best.
The former president said when his time to leave the stage came he handed over and left and since he is retired, he will do his best to protect his family.
"I defended Kenya and I did my best for this country. You may have different opinions but according to me. I did the best I could do for my country and I handed over when my time was finished. I will now do my best to defend my family and I won't be intimidated," Uhuru said.
He spoke at the residence of his son after police allegedly raided the home.
The police reportedly searched what is said to be illegal weapons.
The former President also fired back at the government following the withdrawal of his mother Mama Ngina Kenyatta's security and a raid conducted at his son's Karen home.
He condemned the raid at his son's Karen home saying the government should deal with him instead of interfering with the lives of his children.
