Bamburi picks new board director and company secretary

Bamburi Cement PLC has appointed Claudia Albertini and Joyce Munene as the new non-executive director and secretary, respectively. 

Bamburi Cement PLC’s board chairman, John Simba welcomed the appointments saying the two are joining them at the heart of the firm’s 2025 strategy of accelerating green growth.

“They will play a critical role in ensuring we deliver market leadership growth, innovation and sustainable building solutions, product expansion and ensure superior performance,” Simba said.

Claudia is an Italian national and has over 26 years of experience in Finance and Accounting.

Currently, she is Holcim Group’s Chief Financial Officer for Asia Middle East Africa Region.

She has held a broad spectrum of senior positions within the Holcim Group Services over the past 23 years, including head of business services and corporate projects, Holcim Belgium’s CEO and CFO, lead regional controller Europe (excl UK), Regional Controller – UK, Spain, and trading and affiliates.

She holds a Master’s Degree in Economics and Commerce from the Università Cattolica del  Sacro Cuore, Milan, Italy and European Baccalaureate from European School of Varese, Varese,  Italy.

On the other hand, Joyce is an accomplished governance, legal and compliance professional.

This, with broad career  expertise in the financial services sector and Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) industry, as well  as an independent corporate governance consultant.

She was previously the senior legal manager and company secretary at East African Breweries Limited, the legal services manager and assistant  group company secretary at Equity Bank Group, and legal officer at United Insurance Company. 

She holds a Master’s in Business Administration (Strategic Management) from Jomo Kenyatta  University, Bachelor of Laws (LLB) from University of Pune, India and a  Diploma in Law from the Kenya School of Law (KSL).       BY THE STAR
