President William Ruto on Thursday will return to Isiolo and Meru counties.
This will be even as the anti-government protests enter day two countrywide.
On Wednesday, Ruto visited Kericho and Narok counties to deliver goodies.
Today in Meru, the President will visit Tutua- Ruiri Rwarera Ward in Buuri sub-county to issue title deeds to residents.
Ruto will commission the newly constructed Isiolo-Marsabit-Addis Ababa Highway.
Governor Abdi Hassan Guyo had earlier said that Isiolo wouldn’t be participating in the ongoing maandamano, noting that destruction from the demos was contributing to the high cost of living due to the loss of money and damage of properties.
He said that the weekly demos were also deteriorating the economy of the country at a time when the government was trying to stabilize it.
In May, the president attended an Inter-Denominational Church Service at Isiolo Stadium.
Ruto, who was the UDA presidential candidate won the most votes in both Isiolo North and South constituencies.
However, Ruto’s party failed to get the top most seats of Governor, Senator, Woman rep and MPs.
The former ruling party, Jubilee, scooped all the top five elective seats in the August 2022 elections.
At the moment, all the jubilee-elected leaders have pledged to work with the government. BY THE STAR
