Timothy Kimani Ndegwa aka Njugush is among the best Kenyan comedians who are making moves in the comedy industry.
The young man was born on May 2oth 1991 in Meru and he is the firstborn in a family of two.
His father was a reverend and this affected his primary school studies, as they kept on moving which resulted in him attending 6 different primary schools.
The comedian attended high school at Naaro High School where he sat for his KCSE and got a C+.
His passion for acting and comedy was a thing that developed in his childhood and his mother used to volunteer him to act in the church plays.
When he got a C+ his dreams of joining a Catholic University were crushed as his father could not afford to pay for him as his brother was in high school at the time.
He later joined the Kenya Institute of Mass Communication where he studied journalism.
The actor was able to get back into acting as he joined the school’s drama club where he met Abel Mutua who would change his life.
While at school, the comedian was able to live out his dream of becoming a radio host while hosting a reggae show on ECN Radio – a station owned by KIMC.
In 2013, Abel Mutua contacted him for a role on the Hapa Kule cast and that was one of the things that propelled him into the acting scene.
Later on, he went on to be the creative director for Hapa Kule News which birthed the Real Househelps of Kinoo that later became known as The real Househelps of Kawangware.
Njugush then left the program to focus on comedy and here he started his comedy shows and skits on his Youtube channel.
The comedian started Through Thick and Thin and a comedy series called Dereva that have become his source of income and he has just concluded a tour of his TTNT show in Australia.
The family man seems to have passed on his knack for comedy and acting to his first son Tugi who has featured in some of their skits.
In his career he has been able to bag some awards along the way:
