Radio host Cate Rira has revealed her podcast was inspired by a night nurse (prostitute).
This was after she watched the damsel sharing how she ended up on the streets selling her body to men in exchange for cash.
Sharing the inspiration behind her POV podcast, she shared
“I needed to do the POV(Point Of View) show because from where we stand we judge people a lot.
I was watching a twilight worker (prostitute) in one of these media houses, and saw her explanation as to why she does what she does.
I listened as she explained why she was doing what she was doing and I was like damn!! sometimes we need a 360 view on people.”
Rira says like most people, she did not have good thoughts towards people who sell their bodies. But listening to that story changed her perception.
“I had a mean notion about why some women sell their bodies.
She explained how she landed there and I wished we can understand why some people land where they are.
That was the goal of my podcast, to let people see other people’s lives from their (victims) point of view.
That sex worker made me start my podcast.”
