Residents of Karagita estate in Naivasha are still in shock after a Form Two student was found dead and the body covered in garbage.
Police moved in to collect the body with initial investigations indicating that the minor died from strangulation.
A witness Amos Wafula said that a group of students who are on holiday had attended a party for a colleague in one of the homes on Sunday.
“Members of the public spotted the body lying under garbage and on checking it was discovered that the victim was one of the girls who had attended the party,” he said.
Area residents alleged that another student who had an affair with the deceased may have killed her.
Meanwhile, a twenty-five-year-old man who returned from the Middle East last month committed suicide in the family’s house in Kinamba estate.
The body was found hanging from one of the rooms in the estate, along the Naivasha-Kirima road before police were called in.
It’s suspected that the deceased who had undergone several counseling sessions took his life due to depression and financial constraints.
A village elder John Mwangi said that they were attracted to the home by screams only to find that the deceased had taken his life.
“We understand that he was undergoing depression and had on several occasions been counseled but unfortunately this did not work,” he said.
Naivasha OCPD Benjamin Boen confirmed both incidents adding that the bodies had been collected and inquest files opened.
“We had two incidents where a minor was found murdered and a man committed suicide and our officers are investigating the cases,” he said. BY THE STAR
