Azziad Nasenya knew she would be a star pretty early in life. In fact, that was when she was 14 years old that she knew the influence she carried.
She said this during an interview with Wabosha Maxine revealing she was a big deal in the Western region in School.
“You would see people stop what they are doing to see what I’m doing,” she shared about her stardom.
The popular TikToker said told Maxine;
“I’m that kind of person who would come with a watch to school and everyone was like what! Do you have that watch? Where did you get it? The next term everyone comes to school with that same watch. By that time maybe I lost mine or I have another one,” she shared.
She also gave the example of how being a drama student, she would grab attention from other schools.
“I was quite a big deal in Western. I would step into a room and for a solo verse and people would be like that’s Azziad from St Cecilia. And you would see people stop what they are doing and come to the windows and just see.”
In Form 3, Azziad was so competitive that she realized she was a threat to her school peers.
She was set for a solo verse for the National competition and decided to pretend she had lost her voice. She knew her competitors would be delighted about her embarrassment at not having a voice.
“So I get into the room and everyone is waiting to see how embarrassed Im going to be I mean I don’t have my voice. And I’m just like Azziad Nasenya and they were like yoooh, she played us, and I’m like it wasn’t intentional.”
She said some teachers tried to stop her from pursuing her star dreams and looked down on students doing drama and music.
In a letter to her younger self, Azziad mentioned how people will take advantage of her kindness.
“Life is crazy adulting is not easy as you think it is, you now believe people are good and kind, sorry to burst your bubble but good and evil exist in this world. You’re now kind, continue being kind regardless of the unkindness of others,” the 23-year-old also keeps her circle small because of backstabbing.
“Be kind, spread positivity, surround yourself with the right people, positive voices who just want the best for you. I wish I could open every day with you, you know. Just cheering you on when you feel alone, but always remember that you have yourself, you are your biggest fan. it’s very important to cheer yourself on so just hang in there. You will get to where you want.”
