The Director of Criminal Investigations Mohamed Amin, has congratulated the DCI sports team for their performance in recent local and international championships.
On Thursday, Amin acknowledged that the team that flew the Directorate’s flag high in the recently concluded National Police Service athletics championship and emerged third out of the 16 teams.
“May I on behalf of the Directorate congratulate you for your splendid performance, brought about by your hard work, resilience and patience,” Amin said as he addressed the athletes.
Amin also urged the team to continue embracing the spirit of sportsmanship.
The DCI chief pledged the Directorate’s commitment to supporting the team in training and provision of key sporting gear, to enable the athletes to train and compete better.
“The Directorate is extremely proud of your performance and we shall continue to support you, as you make us proud and bring glory to our country,” he added.
Among the athletes present during the breakfast meeting were the African record holder and 8th fastest man of all time in 100 metres, Ferdinand Omanyala and African Championships silver medalist sprinter Maximila Imali.
Speaking on behalf of the athletes, Omanyala thanked the Director for supporting the team and exuded confidence to continue posting positive results in future competitions. BY THE STAR
