Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka was visibly absent during the Azimio la Umoja Kamukunji rally on Tuesday, a move that left many coalition supporters with questions.
However, while addressing Azimio supporters at the grounds, coalition leader Raila Odinga said that Kalonzo is currently out in Europe and has sent his apologies.
“I’ve talked to my friend, Kalonzo Musyoka. He’s currently in Europe and that’s why he’s not here but he has sent his greetings,” Odinga said.
Kitui Senator Enoch Wambua while speaking during the event said that the Wiper leader will support any resolutions made during the consultative meeting.
“I come with greetings from Kalonzo Musyoka, he has said that he stands with us and if you tell him to move forward we will move forward,” Wambua said.
Raila also told his supporters that former president Uhuru Kenyatta had also sent his apologies.
“Our brother Uhuru Kenyatta has sent his greetings, do you receive them?” Raila posed.
Raila said the approval and signing of the Finance Bill 2023 into law by President William Ruto on Monday was an act of dictatorship and called on Kenyans to repeal the new tax laws and partake in acts of civil disobedience to send a message to the Kenya Kwanza administration.
In attendance were Narc Kenya party leader Martha Karua, National Assembly Minority Leader Opiyo Wandayi, Rarieda MP Otiende Amollo, Deputy National Assembly Minority Leader Robert Mbui, Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna and Embakasi East MP Babu Owino.
Other lawmakers present were Anthony Oluoch, Beatrice Ogolla, Beth Siengo, Millie Odhiambo, Tim Wanyonyi, George Aladwa, James Nyikal, Charles Were, Stewart Madzayo, Amos Mwago, Jones Mwarumba, Edwin Sifuna, Godfrey Osotsi, Enoch Wambua and a host of ward representatives. BY THE STAR
