Senate to visit Oduol’s office to check if he owns Sh1 million ‘chair’

The Senate impeachment committee is contemplating visiting Siaya county to assess the office of impeached Deputy Governor William Oduol.

This after MCAs alleged that the DG used his powers to push the county government to renovate and equip his office to the tune of Sh18 million.

The MCAs claimed that Oduol caused the county to buy him a Sh1.12 million chair and a Sh1 million table.

The Siaya ward reps further told Senate that Oduol allegedly used Sh2 million to soundproof his office.

Speaking during the ongoing impeachment hearing, the panel’s chairman William Kisang said they will visit the county offices if time allows.

“We are trying to see if we can visit Siaya to see this office. If time allows, we will go,” Kisang said.

The committee is currently conducting hearings on the impeachment of the DG by the county assembly.

The hearing ends Thursday, then the panel is expected to table its report in the House at 2.30 pm on Monday.
