Journalist Betty Kyallo has revealed that she still does not understand the circumstances that led to the breakup of her marriage with fellow journalist Dennis Okari about seven years ago.
Betty and Okari’s marriage fell apart in 2016, just half a year after they tied the knot in a lavish wedding held in Nairobi.
The two had been dating for about four years before the wedding. Speaking on Wicked Edition on NTV, Betty said she does not know what happened with the wedding that caused their marriage to break up.
“It’s something I still wonder about. I don’t know how it went. I think there is a problem with that white dress,” she said.
She added, “It could be anything. But I believe if it wasn’t possible, it wasn’t. You can’t force something.”
The 34-year-old businessman noted that she and her co-parent Okari have now moved on in life and are both happy in their new position.
“It is not necessary because I am with someone here and we will be together for another hundred years,” she said.
However, she noted that some Kenyans still haven’t forgotten about her short-lived marriage.
Kyallo and Okari dated for about four years before tying the knot in a lavish wedding on October 2, 2015 at Marula Manor Gardens, Karen Street, Nairobi.
Unfortunately, the two journalists decided to part ways and go their separate ways just six months later, leaving many Kenyans in shock.
During their relationship, the two were blessed with a beautiful daughter together, Ivanna who they now co-parent together.
Last year, Betty Kyallo made it clear that there is no enmity between her and Okari.
“Working together in parenting has been good. Ivanna loves her father very much and her father loves her as well,” Betty said in an interview with Citizen Digital.
The presenter however admitted that it took some time before they were able to work together after their marriage ended.
“We go with Dennis to all school meetings. The way we sit, people might think we are still together. We have no quarrels. We are friends. We always call each other about our daughter,” she said.
