Prof Juma elected Mukumu Girls board chairman

 

Prof Vincent Juma of Masinde Muliro will now head Mukumu Girls High School's board of management.

Juma was elected chairman by board members during its first meeting.

Western regional director of Education Jared Obiero said that Juma has a background in the Catholic priesthood.

Obiero said that the board held their first meeting at the weekend and elected their chairman in accordance with the law.

"They have even constituted respective committees," he told the Star on the phone.

Last month, Education Cabinet Secretary Ezekiel Machogu transferred Mukumu Girl's Principal Frida Ndolo and named Jane Mmbone as the school head.

The CS also disbanded the school's board of management following a disease outbreak at the school.
