Man in court for allegedly stealing Sh220,000 wedding ring
A man who allegedly stole a woman’s gold wedding ring worth Sh220,000 at a city restaurant has been charged.
Micheal Njambi Wamuciuri was charged before Kibera Principal Magistrate Renee Kitagwa where he denied the charges.
The court heard that the accused person committed the offence on April 29 at the Kettle House bar and restaurant area in the Lavington Dagoretti area within Nairobi county.
The ring was the property of Christine Mwendwa Nkonge who is the complainant in the case.
The woman was in the company of her friends enjoying some music as they danced on the floor when the ring fell on the ground.
An employee of the restaurant picked it up and gave it to his workmate, now the accused person, who failed to deliver it to the woman.
The accused denied the charges and pleaded for leniency.
The magistrate released him on a Sh100,000 bond with an alternative cash bail of Sh50,000.
She also directed that the case be mentioned on May 31 for the pre-trails and further directions.
