A few years ago Edgar Obare’s lucky star was shining bright.
The man from Kisii seems to have the world at his feet thanks to his exposed pieces.
He even got nicknamed the ‘Tea Master’ because of how hot he would serve gossip.
But as we all know, Kenyans are a greedy lot.
With time the demand for gossip rose and Edgar couldn’t keep up.It is then that he decided he would be exposing celebrities’ relationships and who they were cheating with.
Obare touched a raw nerve after he did an expose of Natalie Githinji known by many as Natalie Tewa.
The blogger alleged the damsel was in a romantic relationship with then-Mombasa governor Hassan Joho.
This saw Natalie sue Obare arguing he had exposed personal information about her online thus risking her security.
Obare was arrested in July 2020 in Kisumu and taken to DCI headquarters in Nairobi for questioning.
He had published passport details of Githinji, with a visa alleging she had traveled to Dubai. At the time, international flights had been suspended.
Obare linked Githinji’s travel to that of two legislators – Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho and Suna East MP Junet Mohamed – who had also traveled to Dubai to visit ODM leader Raila Odinga.Raila had traveled to Dubai to undergo surgery on his back.
The court had ruled that the accused person should not publish anything concerning the matter. In 2021, he also exposed Jalang’o and his boy’s club.
Obare alleged that the former radio host and his friends would hire rooms and compete on who would sleep with the most women.
The expose ranked Jalang’o as the guy who has slept with many girls.
It was alleged that the boys club has rented several apartments in Nairobi where they take their “Mpango wa Kandos” to have a good time, drink booze and dance the night away.
This expose saw Jalang’o lose deals as some companies opted to pull out. He also lost his job as a radio presenter with Milele FM.
2 plus years ago, Obare almost broke DJ Mo’s marriage to Size 8. This was after he exposed him for cheating in the ‘Mateke’ hitmaker.
Mo lost his job at NTV where he was an in-house DJ co-hosting a show alongside Grace Ekirapa.
He had allegedly cheated on his wife with a lady identified as Margaret Wanyama.
Edgar also exposed Terrence Creative, after he cheated on his wife Milly Chebby with environmentalist Anita Soina.
Soina admitted to dating Terence for a few months before the information was leaked.
In 2012 a warrant of arrest on Obare has been issued by a Kiambu court for absconding court hearings twice.
In 2022 Obare found himself on the wrong side with business man KRG the Don.
This was he alleged the artists ex-wife was sleeping around with you boys.
Not long after that Obare lost his Instagram page.
Krg took to social media to brag about how he had gotten his revenge by ensuring Obare lost his Instagram page.
Reacting to the news of the shut down of Edgar’s page, KRG posted the photo of the Tea Master on his page and had this to say,
“IG ni kwangu wewe kaa uko Telegram hadi end of time 😂😂😂😂😂 #Vibare kibao sana…. Ni #Bughaaa Alooooh!”
That was not the first time Obare had lost his social media page.
In September 2021 Obare who currently lives abroad alleged his brother had been kidnapped.
Photos of him with his hands tied to the back emerged leaving many with questions on whether the abduction was true or it was a cry for attention.
Through his BNN page on Instagram, Edgar said the kidnappers tortured his brother, asking him about the blogger’s whereabouts.
“I would like to ask you to pray for my family. Saturday night I was informed that they kidnapped my brother,” he said.
Last week Obare proved that he is becoming irrelevant after an attempt to expose TV Personality Hasaan Mugambi failed.
In the expose, Obare’s ‘sourse’ alleged that she was a friend to Hassan’s baby mama and that she had a sexual relationship with the TV personality.
This move backfired after people told him off for wanting to make a name for himself by bring other people’s brands down.
Many wondered how a person’s personal life affected him to an extent of him feeling it is worth reporting.
