Jackie Matubia lands major role in popular TV series
Actress Jackie Matubia has been unveiled as the newest member of the TV series Salem. Announcing the great news to her fans, Jackie shared a snippet of her new role on her Instagram page.
"Yes I Jackie MAtubia will be gracing your screens starting this Tuesday and every day Monday - Thursday from 8:30pm," she said tagging Maisha Magic Plus after the caption.
She officially joins Salem as 'Zara', a part of the main cast, following the exit of Illya Frank who left the show a week ago over what she says is a hostile working environment and poor management.
"Sasa muache kuboeka . Hii nyao mtapenda sn2 ni *fire emoji* Yall you knwo how I do it , si tupatane #Salem," she added.
Salem, a local series that airs on DSTV's Maisha Magic Plus every weekday from 8:30PM has been rocked by controversy after three of its main cast quitting the show within one year after it premiered.
Jackie also introduced her screen mother and sister to her fans. She also hinted at how she relates in the series with her sister.
"This season we fight, we love, we fight again its part fo love ....go show some love to ,my sister."
She also introduced actor Kael Njihia as her TV son.
Mumbi Maina first exited the 'Zara' role after only four months, Illya Frank who replaced her, quit the role a week ago, now being replaced by Jackie Matubia.
Another main cast who has part ways with the show is Melvin Alusa, who played Melchizedek/Principal Karani.
Melvin announced his exit 2 days ago, similarly, claiming toxicity and a poor working environment in the show, accusing the producers of neglecting the cast.
