Shock as Bomet man slashes his two sons to death

 

Shock and grief descended on a Bomet village Thursday afternoon after a man slashed his two kids to death over a suspected family feud.

Hillary Kibet Rono, 28, from Manjiliet in Bomet Central is said to have killed his two sons of ages three and two in the 3pm incident by chopping off their heads using a panga.

Ndarawetta chief Zephania Koech has told reporters the man who is currently in the hands of police committed the heinous act before attempting suicide.

"After chopping off the heads of the two children he locked the lifeless bodies inside the house and went to inform his cousin of the act," Koech said.

He continued;

"When we arrive at the homestead we truly found some poisonous substance in the house."

According to the administrator, preliminary investigation indicates the wife who was away had a quarrel with him some four days ago.

The man who had earlier been rescued from irate locals who were baying for his blood is currently admitted to a local health facility under the watch of detectives.

Bodies of the deceased were moved to Longisa referral hospital.
