How Ayra Starr’s concert went down at KICC [Videos]

Nigerian star Oyinkansola Sarah Aderibigbe alias Ayra Starr brought Nairobi to a standstill as she treated Afro-beat fans to a fun-filled concert at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC).

Gates to the concert opened as early as 6 pm, allowing partygoers to secure their preferred spots to enjoy the performances without any struggles.

Revelers from different parts of the country showed up at the venue ready to have a good time and interact with their favorite celebrities who were lined up to perform.

The Nigerian artiste (Ayra Starr) entertained revelers with the best of her hit song’ Rush, Sability, Bloody Samaritan, and Away among others.

During her electrifying performance, Ayra Star also brought on stage fellow Mavin Records signee Bayanni.

He performed his viral song TA TA TA and the crowd was happy.

Being the headliner of the show the Rush hitmaker showed up on stage at exactly 2:07 am and she performed until 2:43 am.

Mejja

Kenyan rapper Major Nameye Khadija ‘Mejja’ made a comeback at Shoke Shoke Festival after taking a back seat for months due to illness.

Mejja acknowledged that it feels good to be back at doing what he does best – entertaining and interacting with his fans on stage.

Amidst his performance, Mejja mentioned that the Shoke Shoke was his first show out of recovery. He also came on stage with his new girlfriend who was busy documenting Mejja’s performance with a smile on her face.

Mejja performed most of his major hit songs paving way for Ayra Starr who was the main act of the night.

Khaligraph Jones

Award-winning rapper Khaligraph Jones was the third act on stage had he kicked off his performance with a fire freestyle.

Known for his lyrical flow Papa Jones did not disappoint as he performed; Yego, Mazishi, Ngori, and Kasheshe among others.

The crowd was all screams as Jones shared the stage with Governor Johnson Sakaja who challenged him to a rap battle.

The County boss confessed that he has always admired Papa Jones and his prowess in the Hip Hop industry.

“I love this guy, I have admired him for so long and I have always wanted to share a stage with him,” Governor Sakaja said to Khaligraph Jones.

Boutross

Angela Hitmaker Boutross Munene was the second act on stage after The OnlyRosa.

He performed his hit song Angela featuring Juice Man. He also brought on stage Flirty Carlos and his brother Sean MMG as his dancers and fans were happy. Before exiting the stage, Boutross teamed up with Khaligraph Jones for the performance of Ndovu ni Kuu a song they were featured in by Crisper aka Ndovu Kuu.

Lil Maina

Gengetone Star Lil Maina graced the stage as a surprise act performing his hit song Kishash and also paid tribute to his late grandfather who propelled him to stardom.

TheOnlyRosa

Kenyan songstress TheOnlyRosa was the first act to grace the stage and she did not disappoint.

She kept the crowd clued on the stage with her suggestive dance moves while singing songs like; Ni wewe and Inside ft Naiboi among others.

The DJs of the Night

Revealers at the concert were also kept on their feet by several DJs who played all genres of music creating a perfect mood to unwind for the night.

Some of the DJs were; Brian the DJ, DJ Lordwin, DJ Shawn, CNG/Dream, and DJ Storm.

Lang’ata MP Jalang’o was also at the concert and delivered a commendable freestyle that left the crowd yearning for more.

“I miss this job but we can do it one more time,” Jalas said after being given the microphone.

The Shoke Shoke Festival witnessed performances from; The Only Rosa, Boutross Munene, Mejja, Lil Maina, Bayanni, Khaligraph Jones, and Ayra Starr.

The ‘Shoke Shoke’ Fest is an initiative by MNE (Mwanaume Ni Effort).
