6 tips on how to stay safe at an event

You are never certain about how an event is going to end up, whether the fun is guaranteed whether the security is bumped, or whether you will be safe to have fun.

However, there are a few ways to make sure that you are safe beforehand from uncertainty.

Consider these six things to stay safe when planning to go out, furthermore, prevention is better than cure.

1. Wear comfortable appropriate clothing

When going out or when planning to stay outside for the night, there are a few things to consider: cold and security/ emergency.

You do not want to get sick the next day, do you?

When it comes to emergencies especially as a woman remember to dress up to up in a comfortable way that keeps away ‘predators’.

If you decide to dress up in white, remember to carry an extra pair or consider a different color in case of staining. 

2. Go with friends or people you trust

When going to events ensure that your company is people you trust that will take care of you in case of an emergency or when you end up consuming more alcohol than planned.

Also, concerts are much more fun spent with friends.

3. Share your location with people back home

when you decide to go out to an event, especially at night it is important to let those back home of your plans for the night.

Let them know where you will be by pinning a location for them to let them know if you plan to go back home. This will help them account for you in case of an emergency.

4. Charge your phone or carry a power bank.

If you have to carry your phone when going to a concert for documentation and obviously communication, make sure to charge it.

This will help you to navigate through the night with ease also remember to keep it safe so as to not get stolen.

5. Stay alert

The most important thing for you to do when you go out the night is to stay alert.

For your and your friends’ safety, remember to stay alert for thieves, pedophiles, and unnecessary fights, and check on what you consume food/alcohol.

Look out for suspicious characters and objects such as bags left unattended or without the owner around.

6. Control your alcohol intake.

In as much as you want to ‘soak’ into the moment, remember to not exceed your alcohol limit.

Too much alcohol will certainly make you indulge in unruly behavior and make you disoriented from your surroundings giving room for ‘predators’.
