Former Meru Senator and CS nominee Mithika Linturi has said that he wants to forget the many cases he has in court, and focus on serving Kenyans.

Speaking during vetting by the National Assembly Committee on appointments, the nominee for Agriculture and Livestock Development said he was tired of fighting cases in court.

According to the former senator, he has left it all to the consciences of his accusers and God.

“I have fought so many cases and I don’t think I have the energy. I want to free my mind given the opportunity to work for this country I must also let it go, forget the pain and persecution I have gone through. I have left it to their conscience and God to deal with them because they are many,” Linturi said.

He noted he currently has 35 active civil cases and no criminal case in court.

His response came after MPs vetting cabinet nominees raised questions on the recent cases that have been coming up in court.

Speaking on Friday, Linturi also disclosed that he is worth Sh1.2 billion.

“Mr Chairman my financial net worth which includes my investments in various companies in this country and other investments in saccos are to the tune of Sh1.2 billion,” he said.

“My current income is money I get out of rental income. Business, I’m a dairy farmer, and the amount I’m expecting to get in the near future is beyond Sh1 billion.”    BY MPASHO NEWS
