Two in court for ‘stealing’ woman’s radio as she listened to music

A woman who was at her house relaxing while enjoying cool music has sued two men whom she accused of stealing her radio in the gist of the moment.

Penninah Mikubi further told a Kibera court that Brian Mandela and Setrick Isich also stole her flash disc and two gas cylinders.

The suspects were on Monday arraigned before resident magistrate Jacqueline Ojwang and charged with the offence.

They denied the charges.

According to the charge sheet, the alleged offence was committed at Kibarenge slums in Westlands subcounty, Nairobi county.

Mikubi told the court she was at her house while her door was closed but not locked.

She was listening to music from the radio when the gadget suddenly went silent and upon investigations, she realised that it had disappeared.

The magistrate released the suspects on a cash bail of Sh30,000 with a surety of the same amount.

She directed that the case will be mentioned on October 5.
