Roots Party presidential running mate Justina Wamae has continued to lift the lid on her strained ties with party leader George Wajackoyah.
Wamae now claims she last spoke with her boss before the August 9 general election.
“The last time I had a conversation with my party leader was August 3, that was before elections,” she said during a TV interview on Tuesday.
Wamae claimed thereafter, Wajackoyah blocked her and they haven’t been in touch ever since save for when they met at the Bomas of Kenya during vote tallying – and they only said hi.
“We have not spoken with him on matters on election and our party in person,” Wamae revealed.
Relations between the two presidential hopefuls have hit the rocks leading to a disciplinary summon to Wamae.
The bone of contention revolves around Wamae’s public utterances that do not reflect party position.
They include one where she claimed Wajackoyah endorsed Azimio presidential candidate Raila Odinga ahead of the polls, a position her party leader had previously dismissed as false.
In a letter by legal director Washika Wachira, the party accused Wamae of breaching party structures and tainting the party’s reputation.
Wamae, however, dismissed the summons saying she cannot respond to pettiness.
During the interview on Tuesday, Wamae claimed her party is disorganised and their agent mobilisation for the elections was poor.
“The reason I said our party was not organised is the fact that he (Wajackoyah) did not want to speak to me as his immediate associate.”
Wamae, however, said that despite the challenges, she didn’t find it wise to air them in the public.
She wants the issues to be resolved in a physical sitting and not on social media. BY THE STAR
