Emurua Dikirr Member of Parliament Johana Ngeno has garnered 19,958 votes to retain his seat. Mr David Keter and Shadrack Kiprono got 14,596 and 780 votes respectively.
In a total of 40,044 registered voters, 35, 728 cast their votes in different wards; Mogondo, kapsasian, IIkerin and Ololmasani Ward. 234 were rejected for various reasons.
Ngeno who will now enjoy a second term as a Member of Parliament for Emurua Dikiir through the United Democratic party expressed his pleasure and urged residents to support him in pushing his development agenda for the benefit of whole constituency.
“It is now another light shining on my side and the Emurua Dikiir residents who are ready to support my leadership for the next five years,” Ngeno said.
In the last August 2017 General Election, Ng’eno defied the odds and won the Emurua Dikirr parliamentary seat on a KANU ticket.
He garnered 16,098 votes against Jubilee’s David Keter who managed 13,707. He then took a dig at DP Ruto and the area Governor Samuel ole Tunai for funding his competitor.
“The people of Emurua Dikirr have spoken not because of petty things like handouts but a development that will change their lives,” he said.
Narok County Commissioner Isaac Masinde confirmed that no incident had been reported during the voting and tallying process and thanked the residents for maintaining peace.
Mr Masinde called on the residents to embrace peace even after the leaders are announced, asking those who will lose to accept defeat and support the winners in developing the county. BY DAILY NATION
