No zoning in Machakos, I will defeat Waita —Wavinya
Wiper governor candidate Wavinya Ndeti has dismissed Azimio’s zoning proposal in Machakos.
Ndeti said her competitor and CCU leader Nzioka Waita shouldn’t be forced to step down for her.
She exuded confidence that she will defeat Waita.
Wavinya spoke on July 2 when she received over 500 defectors from Waita’s camp at her home in Kinanie, Mavoko.
She dismissed those questioning her academic credentials saying those doubting authenticity of her degree certificates should check with the universities she studied in.
“The case on my academic credentials is in court. If you want to know whether Wavinya studied at South Bank or City Universities, get into the portal, pay 30 pounds and the universities will answer you,” she said.
“It’s very easy to know about someone. I am used to being taken to court. They want to waste my time, slow me down so that I don’t campaign.”
She said she was focused and knew what she wanted to do for Machakos residents.
Ndeti called for peaceful campaigns in Ukambani.
She said no amount of intimidation or violence will distract her or deter Raila from becoming the fifth president.
“We are peaceful people. We have never had violence in Machakos or leaders fighting even during the 2007/8 post-election violence,” Wavinya said.
“We have 45 tribes in Machakos and have lived peacefully. ”
She condemned the political misuse of children and youths by politicians to cause violence against their opponents.
“We do not want to see children carrying posters in our campaign rallies, children should stay at home. Let parents take charge of them,” Wavinya said.
She urged the government to provide residents of the Lower Eastern with relief food because of hunger.
Wavinya's running mate Francis Mwangangi said the governor candidate must be respected by everyone.
“Some people have been insulting Wavinya. Now they have sponsored two individuals to dispute her academic papers in court. These people have got no respect for women,” Mwangangi said.
He said those men attacking Wavinya should leave her alone and instead fight their fellow men. BY THE STAR
