IEBC to receive first batch of ballot papers today
The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission will receive the first batch of ballot papers on Thursday.
According to chairman Wafula Chebukati, the batch will be received at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport in Nairobi.
Speaking on Thursday, he said that all ballot papers will arrive through the JKIA.
He said the presidential ballot papers will be the last to be printed.
"Procurement has been finalised and what we are currently doing is the printing of ballot papers, which is ongoing," he said.
The IEBC chairman said together with two other commissioners, they will be receiving the ballot papers later on Thursday.
Chebukati affirmed that the ballot papers will have enough security features including serial numbers, which will be specific to each polling station.
He said the number ballot will papers will be the same as the number of registered voters in each station and therefore no room for rigging.
"There's nothing like extra papers that will be printed,"Chebukati said.
He spoke during a meeting with the Kenya Private Sector Alliance (Kepsa) in Nairobi.
Chebukati noted that election stakeholder would be taken to the printer to witness the printing of presidential ballot papers. BY THE STAR
