In 2021, billionire Jay Z joined Instagram and almost immediately deleted his account.
On November 3rd, Jay Z joined Instagram to promote his Netflix produced movie The Harder They Fall.
He posted on photo, a poster fo the movie plus an Instagram story of the film premier trailer.
24 hours later, he deleted the account.
The next morning November 4th, his accounted was gone.
He deleted the page, which had accumulated 800,000 followers in just a matter of hours.
“It went crazy and it was on TIME magazine the next morning. I was like, this is too much,” Hov recalled.
In 2016, he joined under a different moniker posted a Michael Jackson tribute, and was quickly gone again.
Speaking to comedian-actor Kevin Hart recently on his Podcast, Jay Z explained why he does these things.
In the wide ranging interview, Jay Z told Kevin that
“It’s not for me. It’s not for me to engage. I didn’t grow up in that space,” he told the comedian.
“I believe in evolution so whatever form it is, I accept that,” he said.
