Kenya has recorded 112 new Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours, bringing the nationwide positivity rate to 5.0 per cent.
The cases were distributed across counties as follows: Nairobi 52, Trans Nzoia 21, Uasin Gishu 8, Kiambu 6, Kilifi 5, Siaya 4, Kericho 3, Kirinyaga 3, Mombasa 2, Nakuru 2, Busia, Homa Bay, Kisumu, Machakos, Narok and Nyeri had one case each.
Out of the new cases , 106 are Kenyans while 6 are foreigners; the youngest is a two-year-old baby while the oldest is 101 years old.
Total confirmed positive cases are now 336,690 out of 3,795,060 tests conducted so far.
In a statement by Health Cabinet Secretary Mutahi Kagwe,108 patients have recovered from the disease.
Atleast no deaths were recorded in the past 24 hours and with the cumulative fatalities still standing at 5,668.
“There are 124 patients currently admitted in our health facilities, while 1,474 are under the Home-Based Isolation and Care program,” reads the statement.
Three patients are in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), all of whom are on ventilatory support.
Another 10 are in the General Wards and are all on supplemental oxygen while no patient is in the High Dependency Unit (HDU).
A total of 19,072,302 93 vaccines have also been administered across the country, according to Kagwe.
“Of these, 16,906,091 are doses administered to the adult population (18 years and above). Another 1,566,423 are doses administered to those between 15 to 17 years, 44,902 are below 15 years but above 12 years while 554,886 are booster doses,” reads the statement.
The total number of vaccines administered in the last 24 hours is 13,603 while the total number of people fully vaccinated in the last 24 hours is 5,352. BY THE STAR
