The only trick Azimio has left is faking opinion polls – Ruto

News

Deputy President William Ruto on Wednesday hit out at his opponents, saying that they only had a few tricks left.

According to Ruto, other than faking opinion polls, the Azimio coalition was depending on the deep state and system because they have no votes.

He went on to say that he is the sitting DP and if there is a system or deep state, then it wouldn’t exist without his knowledge implying the Azimio coalition may be in trouble.

Wanazunguka hapa wakisema iko deep state, sijui iko serikali hata hustler akishinda tutaiba. Nataka mniangalie vizuri nikiwa nimesimama hapa. Mimi ndio Naibu wa Rais wa Kenya, Kwani iko deep state na system ambayo sijui?” he posed, while addressing residents of Sololo in Marsabit.

This loosely translates to, “They are going round saying they have a deep state, they have the system even if the hustler wins we will steal. I want you to look at me, I am the deputy president of Kenya, is there a deep state and system that I don’t know of?”

The second in command said that the Kenya Kwanza coalition is ahead of Azimio in their planning and manifesto, asking them to wait for the outcome on August 9.

He added that no one’s votes will be stolen as Azimio claim, because they have defeated them in previous by-elections, even with the support of the system.

“There’s nothing they will do and they will steal no one’s votes. We defeated them in Msambweni and Juja, in Uhuru’s backyard.”

Speaking at the same venue, Ruto hit out at the Azimio la Umoja coalition over their stand on fighting corruption.

He said their leader has been dining with the corrupt and is even using the proceeds of graft to conduct campaigns.

“Stop the conmanship, you have no business giving us lectures on corruption while you are using corrupt money to campaign. You cannot be dining with the corrupt and give lectures on corruption,” he said.

The DP claimed that Raila has been protecting governors facing corruption cases.

“Stop talking about corruption while you are the one protecting governors who have stolen public money. You protect them so that you can share the money they have stolen.”

He added; “Today Kenyans are complaining, the IMF is complaining, the auditor general is complaining, Covid money, Sh10 billion and Sh65 billion from IMF got lost under the watch of the handshake government.”   BY THE STAR
