Uhuru arrives at Nyayo stadium for Kibaki funeral service

 

President Uhuru Kenyatta on Friday arrived at Nyayo stadium ahead of Mwai Kibaki's funeral service.

Uhuru left the State House for Nyayo stadium at 10:20 am and arrived at the stadium five minutes later.

He was received by DP William Ruto.

The funeral procession of the late President Mwai Kibaki left State House for Nyayo stadium at 9.35 am after a brief funeral service. 

The State funeral procession and military gun carriage was escorted by troops from the Kenya Defence Forces for the six kilometer journey.

Security is tight at Nyayo National stadium, the venue of the state funeral service.   BY THE STAR
