[PHOTOS] Heavy police presence along Uhuru Highway

 

Uhuru Highway remains closed for public use to pave way for Military Procession of the late former President Mwai Kibaki.

The Kenya Defence Forces will have a Procession to the Nyayo Stadium via Kenyatta Avenue, Uhuru Highway and Aerodrome Road.

The Procession is expected to arrive for the State Funeral at around 10:45 am.

On Thursday, Police spokesperson Bruno Shioso advised motorists to avoid the Aerodrome Road and parts of Uhuru Highway leading to the stadium.

Shioso gave alternative routes for those driving to the city from Waiyaki Way towards Mombasa Road to divert at Nyayo House Roundabout and join Kenyatta Highway towards Moi Avenue.    BY THE STAR
