Tanzanian superstar Diamond Platnumz has refuted claims that his mother, Mama Dangote is responsible for choosing who her son dates.
Speaking on BBC Swahili, the media mogul termed the claims as disrespectful to her mother saying he is a grown man who doesn’t need anyone to make such decisions for him.
“Hapana kwanza wanamkosea sana mama yangu, hawezi kunipangia kwa umri wangu niliofika kweli nitapangiwa na mzazi?, hayo maisha yameshaishia zamani sana kwa kupangiwa na mzazi umuoe nani, usimuoe nani, mama yangu hawezi kunipangia,” said Diamond.
Diamond has been teasing his fans of a possibility of settling down but he has been capitalizing the rumors by selling out venues and raking in great numbers musically.
Asked whether he is planning to settle down, Diamond said “Kila binadamu anataka kuoa, nitaoa, natamani kuoa, naelekea kuoa, hiyo ni kauli sahihi zaidi.
But do people know his potential bride? Bibi harusi watu watamuona. Natamani nitulie. Ubaya wa Watanzania wanataka kumpangia mtu muda wake, pengine bado sijajitosheleza kimaisha,”.
This comes just days after Mama Dangote revealed that indeed her son did a wedding.
She first shared a photo of Diamond and wrote;
“BWANA HARUSI MTARAJIWA NASEEB KICHWA.” (Future groom Naseeb)
In another post, she confirmed that he had already gotten married;
“NI KWELI KULIKUA NA NDOA YA MKEKA.” (It is true there was a wedding)
The celebrity mother said she had pleaded with her son for a long time to get married.
