We all love being loved but sometimes things don’t work the way we expect them to. Through Dr. Amakove Wala’s socials women have shared what they miss most about having a man in their life.
Below are some of the hilarious admissions;
Beryl Wanga Itindi shared,
“I tell you, single life has taught me so many things. One of the greatest things it has taught me is the art of waking up in the middle of the night whenever I hear any movements.
Back then when I had a man, I would coil at any slight movement in the night and expect him to wake up, take charge and face whatever dragon was attacking us.”
Itindi says she has learned the hard way what Uhuru Kenyatta meant when he said ‘Usalama unaanza na wewe.’
“These days, I am the one who counter-checks that all doors are locked. When I hear a sound at night, I wake up and walk around the house with my phone on the dial button ready to call and ‘ask for help’ in case of any danger. Eeeeeeeeh, single life is a no-nonsense teacher.”
Easter Kojwang says what she misses most is having her man take charge of taking the car to the garage.
“Taking my car to the garage and car wash, fixing broken/ loose fixtures in the house, gardening, oiling my back, zipping my dresses, helping manage my daughter’s meltdowns.
He doesn’t have to physically carry out all these tasks, but having another adult take over some responsibilities reduces the emotional labor I expend.”
Apiyo Says what she misses is a hands-on man, someone ready and willing to help in the simple everyday chores such as carrying groceries.
“All the above and carrying my groceries to the car and offloading them all again at my destination. I already earned the money and paid the bills, can’t someone just permanently do this odd electrician’s job (kazi ya mkono)?”
