The rapper took to Instagram on Monday, posting a snippet of an official letter addressed to the Secretary General of the Wiper Party.
“I write to inform you of my decision to resign from Wiper Democratic Party of Kenya under section 14 (1) (a) of the political parties act as read with article 38 of the constitution, effective today,” he wrote.
“I wish the party and its leadership and members all the best in their future endeavours,” wrote Prezzo.
Prezzo had initially announced his plans to vie for the Kasarani MP seat in the upcoming August 9 General Election.
He had taken to Instagram on Friday, January 21 where he urged Kasarani residents to vote for him as their preferred candidate.
Prezzo now says he will reveal his party of choice soon.
“Wengi wao wanaenda studio kupiga picha kama wamevaa tai na wamekunja shati kuwafunika macho. Tusiwe vipofu. KASARANI it is wangu!,”
“Na Chama ntawapeleka rieng ila cha msingi…Deadline ni 6th Feb. Chezeni ki nyinyi. Sitawangusha,” stated Prezzo.
CMB Prezzo is part of a long list of entertainers who hope to clinch political seats in the upcoming general election.
