Kisii county based club Shabana FC will be seeking to maintain their winning streak in the National Super League when they visit Nairobi-based side Naivas FC on Sunday at Camp Toyoyo grounds.

Speaking to Nation Sport, the club’s assistant coach Kevin Momanyi said they had turned a new leaf after the club secured their second win of the season just before the Christmans break.

“The team is in good spirit because our players are motivated from our last win. We were in the training camp for a week and l hope we will manage maximum points. All players are fit and have promised good results,” he said.

According to Momanyi, they were targeting to win all the remaining matches before the end of the season.

“It is a collective responsibility from the players to the technical bench and I am delighted with the way our fans give their best to get positive result,” he added.

On his part, the club chairman Nyandoro Kambi said they are pulling all stops to ensure the club seals promotion to the top tier.

“As management, we are determined to ensure the boys are well motivated so that they can deliver good results” said Kambi.

Shabana had a slow start to the campaign having registered two consecutive draws in their first two games; 0-0 against newcomers Mara Sugar and 1-1 when they faced Zoo.

In their third league match, Shabana were handed a walkover after Coastal Heroes failed to show up at Awendo before they lost 4-0 to MCF.

However, the Kisii-based side managed a crucial win by thrashing leaders Mombasa Elites 2-0 at Awendo stadium in Migori.

The win saw Shabana end Mombasa Elite’s four games unbeaten run. Despite the loss, the Mombasa side remains top of the log with 12 points from five matches. Fortune Sacco remains the only unbeaten team so far.

Having garnered 11 points from two draws and three wins, Fortune are ranked second. Shabana moved from position 11 to seven with eight points.     BY DAILY NATION
