DP Ruto takes bottom up agenda to Nakuru, Samburu counties

Deputy President William Ruto will on Saturday address his supporters in Nakuru and Samburu counties.

He started his rally in Bahati, where he addressed wananchi in Dundori, Gathioro, Lanet and Kagotho Poly.

In the afternoon, he is scheduled to rally in Heshima Market, Maili Sita, Maili Kumi, Bahati Centre and finish off in Maralal town at 3:30pm.

Ruto has been traversing the country selling his bottom up economic model ahead of 2022 elections.

On Thursday, he took his bottom-up economic model to ANC leader Musalia Mudavadi’s backyard.

Ruto was in Emuhaya and visited Luanda, Vihiga, Sabatia and Hamisi as he headed to his Sugoi home.

He was joined by Sirisia MP John Walukhe, Ben Washiali, Rashid Echesa, Nelson Havi, Didmus Barasa and  Yusuf Chanzu among others.

The bottom-up economic model is a blueprint targeting to promote investments of ordinary Kenyans and empowering them financially so the country can generate taxes to spur the economy.

The bottom-up economic framework is anchored on a programme that promotes investments and financial instruments that target millions who are unemployed, hustler enterprises, farmer groups and fishermen.

Responding to critics of his “hustler's economic model”, a philosophy that is a cornerstone of his 2022 presidential campaigns, Ruto said the trickle-down approach has failed because it bred cartels.

He said it has failed since it aids patronage and cronyism that breeds cartels and monopolies that benefit a few.   BY THE STAR
