Kenya is a country that has politicians who not only know how to govern “spectacularly” but also know how to spend the money they make from their governing with things like cars, houses and luxury clothes.
And there are some who have risen above the fold among Kenyan politicians whose exceptional styles constantly show how fashionable they are.
Some of those politicians are below. Where available I will include the cost of the items of clothing that they are wearing;
And of course we will start with;
Ali Hassan Joho
The Mombasa governor leaves women drooling and men in awe with his expensive and yet stylish dressing. His style is simple but eschews an elegance that most who spend a lot can’t quite match.
His instances of showing his fashion and flair have been seen so many times that they would make their own list but I will list a few.
The governor who loves wearing Versace was once been spotted in a wool sweater that averages at Ksh148,978 ($1,375).
At another time the politician brought Kenyans to a standstill when he showed off his Louis Vuitton run away sneakers in a mix of Monogram canvas, technical lining and a rubber hand-crafted outsole worth Ksh 96,971 ($895.00).
Najib Balala
What is it about Coast-based politicians, that they keep making it onto lists such as this? Is it the humid weather or the culture?
The Cabinet Secretary for Tourism style loves wearing dark-fitting tailored suits and bowties that seem to complement his light complexion. That doesn’t mean he doesn’t also rock casual wear.
At that, Najib has also excelled and shown middle-aged men that they don’t have to throw their style and fashion sense away, attired in polo shirts, sport jeans, red loafers and checked, tucked shirts.
Ababu Namwamba
The former Budalangi legislator is one man who knows the value of a custom made suit. Although I am not a fan of his box-like, ‘Aurlus Mabele’ hairstyle, the charismatic politician knows how to make it work for him.
During his political career, he has been a consummate dresser (I would argue just as good as Ali Hassan Joho) often wearing expensive 3-piece tailored suits.
And he also showed that his excellent style is not just limited to his formal attire but also his casual pairings. His casual pairings normally feature well-fitting leather/denim jackets that accentuate his lean physique and remind people that he is still spry for his age.
Esther Passaris
The Nairobi Women’s representative not only makes most lists as one of the most attractive female politicians around, but she also isn’t a slouch when it comes to her fashion and style.
What really stands out for the founder of Adopt A Light is her elegant African styles, mainly her Ankara prints that she rocks in public.
While she might not wear a lot of formal attire, even there her fashion sense rocks with elegant and simple figure-hugging dresses.
Nixon Korir
Arguably the most handsome politician in Kenya has a love for three-piece and single-breasted suits in classy, fitting cuts.
The Lang’ata MP who has a smile that can make most women blush, also has a bias for khaki pants paired with plain polo shirts and fitted blazers with Brogue, Oxfords, Boat shoes to sneakers to complete the look.
He is also a fitness enthusiast and will often don Team Kenya tracksuits as he trains.
Susan Kihika
The Nakuru County senator who is also a lawyer by profession made history when she became the first female speaker of Nakuru County Assembly.
And while attaining such amazing records the female politician has done so with class and grace as her fashion sense attests.
And just like Passaris before her, Susan loves arraying herself in both formal and African prints that accentuate the professionalism she espouses. BY CLASSIC 105
