Diana Marua shocked many Kenyans yesterday when she claimed that musician Willy Paul had attempted to rape her in the past.
The viral news has had to merit a response from the normally clout-chasing Willy Paul, which he did when he released a long press statement on his Instagram page.
In his statement, the Njiwa singer said that he was shocked by the defamatory claims made by Diana, whom he said was a long-time friend.
He said that the allegation had been injurious to his career and reputation as a father and public figure.
The singer then went on to explain that his life story was one of grass to grace, saying that he had worked hard for what he had got.
Willy then thanked his mother and musician Gloria Muliro for being great influences on his life. He then asked how he could be disrespectful of women with this background?
Willy also spoke about another sexual assault allegation that had been made against him by another musician who was in his record label a few months back.
He said that that experience had pierced his thick skin and left him needing medication for depression.
He said that the court case was a vulnerability that Diana had seen she could capitalise on, so that she could destroy him.
He said that the mother of 2 had pulled the gender card on him, while trying to establish her own music career at his expense.
He then categorically stated that he had never sexually assaulted anyone in his life and warned that his old flames might come out of the woodwork to support Diana’s claims.
He said that he would go to court to fight the allegations. BY MPASHO NEWS
