Deputy President William Ruto has officially received Laikipia Woman Representative Catherine Waruguru into UDA.
Waruguru had said she held more meetings with the locals regarding the future political move, which ensured that she made the right decision.
In a series of pictures shared on social media, Ruto was shown giving Waruguru a cap branded with UDA colours.
“Welcome back home,” Ruto tweeted on Tuesday as he posed with Waruguru and other officials.
They further went ahead and shook hands amid huge smiles as they posed for pictures outside the DP’s Karen office.
When she ditched Jubilee, Waruguru said she took her time to interrogate her conscience and thoughts.
“I have taken my time to listen to the people of Laikipia. I have done not more than 300 sittings with people and delegates from different wards. I have also travelled, traversed to all corners of this area asking my people; in whose hands will Kenya be safe?’ she posed.
“From where I sit. My conversation with my generation, the generation of my fellow mothers and fathers. The generation of my grandfathers, tunalenga mbele na future kwa chama cha UDA.”
Her announcement comes barely a week after she met with Nakuru Senator Susan Kihika, and Malindi MP Aisha Juma who are close allies of the DP. BY THE STAR
