Koome won't lose anything by swearing in six judges—Havi
Chief Justice Martha Koome has nothing to lose by swearing in six judges, LSK president Nelson Havi has said.
The High Court directed President Uhuru Kenyatta to appoint the six judges he declined to approve in June. He was given 14 days to adhere to the Court order .
The six judges are; Aggrey Muchelule, George Odunga, Weldon Korir, Joel Ngugi, Evans Makori and High Court registrar Judith Omange.
Speaking on Spice FM on Monday, the Law Society of Kenya president said the CJ should approve the judges by November 5.
"...we will go there to validate. She has been set up but she has nothing to lose," he said.
Havi said if this happens, Kenyans will continue enjoying the democratic space and rule of law.
"Koome has the opportunity of doing the same thing and what harm can they do to her? They cant take away her car, they can't take away her salary, they can't lock her office, let her do the right thing," he said.
The LSK president said CJ Emeritus David Maraga will go down as the most respected CJ in Kenya. BY THE STAR
