At least seven mourners died on the spot in two different road accidents in Kipkelion county last Friday.
Twelve survivors are admitted at Kericho Level Four hospital while in critical condition.
Kericho county commander Silas Gichure confirmed the two accidents.
The county police boss said the first accident involved a Fielder Toyota car that was escorting a coffin from Nairobi to Busia.
Upon reaching Jambo Kenya,along Londiani-FortTernan road in Kipkelion West,the Toyota car hit the rear side of a lorry before rolling several times.
“All the five occupants in the car died on the sport,” the police boss said.
The second accident involved a Nissan Matatu which was ferrying mourners from Molo sub-county in Nakuru county to Lelu village, Kipkelion West in Kericho county.
Two passengers in the matatu died on the spot after the accident caused by brake failure. Twelve survivors in the matatu were rushed to Kericho Level four hospital.
