Eliud Kipchoge launches foundation to help children access education

 

Kenyan elite marathoner Eliud Kipchoge has announced the launch of his foundation aimed at helping children across the world to have access to knowledge and education.

World marathon record holder said on Thursday through his Twitter account that he is hoping to reach the people in the world with his voice.

“My mission is to give all children in the world access to knowledge and education. I want those children to grow up into healthy adults in a green and breathing world where forests keep our people safe,” Kipchoge said.

Kipchoge has urged Kenyans and people across the world to contribute to the foundation in order to make the needy children have a smile and enjoy the beauty of the world.

The contribution can be channelled to HFC Limited Bank, Account Name; Eliud Kipchoge Foundation, Account Number; 9783681332.

Through his foundation, Kipchoge said that he wants to raise awareness and raise finances to build libraries, schools, forests.

“I was lucky in my life to have access to books and knowledge from a young age. It taught me to value life.”

Last month, Kipchoge defended his Olympic title at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.

He became the third runner in history to defend the Olympic title.

After a superb performance from the Kenyan team, President Uhuru Kenyatta announced that Sh1 million will be awarded to the gold medalists who participated in the concluded 2020 Tokyo Olympics.

Those who won silver will be given Sh750,000 and Sh500,000 for bronze medalists. BY THE STAR
