DAVID SANKOK: Tuju must stop his tantrums against Ruto

The statement issued by Jubilee secretary general Tuju and his team was underwhelming and personal.

From the tone of the statement, one can tell of a frustrated group of people who have run out of ideas.

As a member of the ruling Jubilee Party, I could advise Tuju to stop throwing tantrums at Deputy President William Ruto who is also our deputy party leader.

My party is at its lowest point and it is understandable because it is frustrating when you want to stop someone and you discover that he is loved more.

The DP made a successful outing in Mt Kenya over the weekend, the culmination of which was witnessed in Githurai market where thousands of supporters of the hustler movement turned out to greet him.

My party has engaged in a lot of games to stop the ballooning and sweeping Ruto wave, including downgrading his security team.

We all know we elected President Uhuru Kenyatta and we gave him all the instruments of power to run the Jubilee government, including the appointment of Cabinet Secretaries.

It is unbelievable that Tuju and his team could suggest that the President was arm-twisted in his appointments.

This has portrayed the President in a bad light as he comes out as a weakling.

The Tuju statement also stands to cause divisions in the Cabinet where he is a member.

I want to call on the President to rein in his section of Cabinet Secretaries who have taken advantage of his inaction to play politics.

A section of Jubilee members leaning towards the President and their bloggers have also been abusing and attacking the Deputy President.

All that we are saying is that the presentation made by Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matinag’i in Parliament last week has given us an opportunity to ask questions on the wealth and land ownership in this country.

We are calling for the full implementation of the Ndung’u Land Report and the Report of the Truth Justice and Reconciliation Commission.

How can one explain a situation where a few families own huge tracts of land across the country?

They have done everything to try to stop the Deputy President. All this failed. Ruto is unstoppable.     BY THE STAR
