Ruto to host 'Hustler Nation' PG meeting in Karen tomorrow
Deputy President William Ruto is set to host 'Hustler Nation' legislators Parliamentary Group in Karen on Thursday.
The 'Hustler Nation' Spokesman Dennis Itumbi said the PG will include ways on how to take the 'Bottom-up' conversation forward.
Itumbi announced this on social media on Wednesday minutes after the DP finished an interview with one of the local stations in Karen.
Ruto had earlier said that the bottom-up economic model proposed by the United Democratic Alliance will narrow the gap between the rich and the poor.
According to him, the model will be a game-changer as it will lift the weak and walk with them. He spoke at a church service in Lang'ata constituency.
The legislators are expected to touch on the issue of Ruto being blocked from a trip to Uganda.
Ruto was set for a private trip to the neighbouring country — the second time in a month — but was blocked by immigration officials at Wilson Airport.
Immigration officials insisted Ruto had to get clearance from President Uhuru Kenyatta.
After the ordeal, Ruto opened up on his experience at Wilson Airport saying the State House wants to 'belittle' him.
"Kuna wimbo unasema ‘Matatizo Tumeyazoea’... Tumepata matatizo... Wabunge wengi wamefurushwa kutoka kamati za bunge. Mimi mwenyewe nimewekwa pembeni. So, yale yalifanyika ni kujaribu kunidunisha, nionekane sina maana…” Ruto said.
Speaking on Inooro FM on Wednesday morning, Ruto said the event was a culmination of the four years onslaught targeting him and his allies, occurrences he blamed on the entry of President Uhuru Kenyatta’s handshake partners.
His allies also castigated the State for blocking the country's second in command from travelling to Uganda.
They claimed that the President was revenging on his deputy because of the recent Kiambaa by-election loss.
On the other hand, Ruto said he was used to such treatments. BY THE STAR
