Uhuru condoles with CS Amina after husband's death
President Uhuru Kenyatta has sent a message of condolence to the family of Sports CS Amina Mohamed following the death of her husband Khalid Ahmed.
The family said Ahmed, who was a Nairobi businessman, passed away on Thursday morning at a Nairobi hospital after a short illness.
In his message of comfort to the family, Uhuru mourned Ahmed as a gentleman and a strong pillar of his family.
“I have received the disheartening news of the passing away of Mr Khalid Ahmed with great sadness. Ahmed was a great person, a gentleman and a strong pillar of his family,” Uhuru said.
"My deepest condolences to my colleague and friend Cabinet Secretary Amina, the children, and the extended family as they come to terms with the sudden passing away of Ahmed. I pray that God, the Almighty grants you the fortitude and grace to go through this difficult period of mourning your beloved spouse, father, and relative.”
Uhuru also eulogised Ahmed as a gifted and successful businessman.
"It is very unfortunate that death has robbed our country of a gifted businessman whose contribution to the progress of our nation shall be dearly missed.”
Several Cabinet Secretaries have also sent their messages of condolence.
Interior CS Fred Matiang’i wished the family God’s strength and comfort during this difficult time.
Tourism CS Najib Balala eulogised Ahmed as a great man, generous to a fault, and a pillar of strength to his family.
“To my sister and colleague Amb. Amina Mohamed, I share the loss and sadness, please accept my deepest heartfelt condolence from my family and May the Almighty Allah give you the fortitude to bear this great loss, and give the family the strength at this time of grief,” Balala said.
Wiper Party Leader Kalonzo Musyoka said that he will remember Ahmed as a suave entrepreneur par excellence. BY THE STAR
