Lawyer's hands chopped off by Makueni cop after attempted rape
A Makueni Law Courts lawyer is nursing serious injuries after he was beaten and had his hands chopped off by a female police officer in an attempted rape incident.
According to a police report, the lawyer identified as Onesmus Masaku invited the officer attached to Makueni Police Station, Nancy Njeri in his house with an aim to introduce her to his fiancé.
"While in the said house, the lawyer changed the story and demanded to have sex with her. She refused but he still made advances at her," the incident report read.
The lawyer allegedly grabbed the officer and started forcing her to his bedroom.
Realising the escalating situation, the officer grabbed a panga and cut him on both hands before managing to escape.
She sustained bite injuries on her right ear and fingers.
The police report revealed that the officer was rescued and rushed to Makueni Referral Hospital where she was treated and discharged.
The assailant who had also been rushed to the same hospital was transferred to Kenyatta National Hospital in serious condition.
A progress report claims the lawyer sustained serious injuries and is in need of specialised treatment.
On visiting Masuku's house, detectives discovered evidence of bloodstains on the table and walls. They managed to recover the Panga used by Njeri.
"Also recovered from the scene was a black bag with a water heater, two mobile phones, a pair of scissors, a small dress wrapped with a pile of newspaper and cooking oil in a yellow plastic bottle," the police said.
