Forget all the showbiz drama that is always around Akothee, a part of life many imagine is all there is. She might be that skimpily dressed lady running around her house and compound like a headless chicken – as it is usually depicted in some of her social media posts. However, this responsible daughter and mother is a serious family person – and a calculated investor.
During the Luo Night cultural extravaganza held at the Carnivore Hotel last year, Akothee – the celebrated award-winning singer behind the new gospel song Wema Wako – showed up with her father, whom she adores. And now, she has brought the old man back to the limelight in a moving post.

Today, August 30, Akothee posted a video of her and her father, whom she is seen dressing him with a face mask. She is wearing a long sort of a ‘mukorino’ skirt, morally correct so. From inside and outside the house, her handlers’ team is seen paying attention and keeping vigilance. This is a moving moment that happened before she left home for Mombasa and then France in what she describes as an ‘epic’ September ahead.
“I miss you daddy. I miss you daddy. I ran back to Mombasa to look after my investments, but I will be back soon. I wish you health and happiness daddy. Also allow me rush and take my kids back to school in France as we wait for Nyabondos burial. That’s my humble prayers from me to GOD. I love you daddy,” she writes on an Instagram post.

“September is looking crazy but I will face it,” she adds.
Akothee runs a tour firm, Akothee Safaris, that mainly handles foreign tourists and whose headquarters is in Watamu. With international travel restrictions now loosening up, this is one end of her life she is focusing on – a mission that will no doubt keep her September’ crazy’.
