Police in Nyeri County have launched a manhunt for two people who escaped from a mandatory quarantine facility.
Speaking to Citizen Digital, County Commissioner Lyford Kibaara said the two had been quarantined at the Wambugu Farm center after they were caught breaking curfew rules.
According to Mr. Kibaara, the duo who hail from Naromoru cut grills at their cubicle and fled from the center.
The County Commissioner has since issued a warning to the escapees saying action will be taken against them adding that “it will not be business as usual” until they’re arrested.
Other quarantine facilities in Nyeri include the Kagumo and Kamwenja Teachers Colleges while Mukurwe-ini Hospital and Nyeri National Polytechnic have identified as isolation centers with a combined capacity of over 300 beds.
