Three sim-card fraudsters cornered in dramatic chase by bodaboda riders
Three suspected fraudsters are being held at the Gilgil police station after their attempts of defrauding a woman were thwarted by bodaboda operators.
The four who were masquerading as sim-card hawkers were ambushed at Kipipiri right before they could swindle their victim off Ksh.5060.
The victim had been lured to the trap by the promise of a new, upgraded airtel line that would be ”faster” and ”better” than the one she currently had.
Earlier on, the suspects who were in a light-yellow motor vehicle of registration KCN 635F had defrauded another woman off Ksh.3000.
A bodaboda operator who spoke to Citizen Digital said the woman had just deposited the money to her line and was taking her child to a local dispensary.
Immediately the suspects transferred the money, one of them pushed the middle-aged woman off her feet before running to their car.
