Prison warder brutally kills girlfriend in Kiambu

A prison warder attached to the Malindi GK prison is in police custody for the murder of his girlfriend.
Tairus mwangi is believed to have taken the life of Purity Karwirwa by hitting her with a hammer five times on the head and several times on different parts of the body.
The autopsy report indicated she died as a result of repeated blows by a blunt object, consistent with assault.
Her hands also bore defensive injuries indicative a struggle before death.
The relationship between the Purity and Mwangi started on Facebook but was later rocked by trouble and mistrust according to purity’s confidants.
Purity’s refuge in Nairobi was to be infiltrated by a Tairus who presented himself as a repentant man who had changed his ways. But even after forgiveness her friends say the man was still violent.
Tairus is reported to have visited his sister who lives in Muchatha area of Kiambu County Tuesday and on Wednesday when the sister went to work, he invited purity and it is here that he killed her.
Police visited the scene and recovered the murder weapon, a hammer, and his clothes. The officer changed his clothes and left purity’s body in his sisters house.
Tairus was Thursday arrested at a bar in Nyamakima area and presented before court on a miscellaneous application.
He is expected to be charged with murder on the 13th of march when he will be presented before court again.

The body of the deceased has since been transported to Meru for burial.
