DP Ruto: I’ll not allow people to lecture me on how to tithe

Deputy President William Ruto has told off those criticising his church generosity, saying he will not be ‘lectured ‘ on how to do God’s work.

Ruto, who spoke in Machakos during a fundraiser in aid of Africa Inland Church (AIC) Katisaa asked Kenyans to reject leaders with no development agenda, but are on good at playing hate politics.

The DP said some of his political rivals had been ‘largely uncomfortable whenever he supports church projects.

“We have read the Bible and we have understood what we are called to do, nobody should be forced to give to God. Someone should not give us lectures on what to do,” said Ruto.

Ruto urged Kenyans to desist from empty political rhetoric but should instead direct their energies to President Uhuru Kenyatta’s Big 4 agendas.

He hailed President Kenyatta for uniting all political leaders including their opponents saying it was time to transform the country’s political culture.

“We must harmonise our politics so that we create synergy and drive the transformation of Kenya together as the people of this great Nation,” said Ruto

MPs who accompanied him included, Victor Munyaka (Machakos Town), Charles Nguna (Mwingi West) Rachel Nyamai(Kitui South), Flabian Muli (Kangundo), George Sunkuyia (Kajiando West), Vincent Musyoka ( Mwala) and Eldamaravin’s Moses Lesonet.
