Travellers were on Monday stuck for hours on the busyNamanga-Nairobi highway after residents blocked the busy road demanding compensation after a local was hit and killed by bus.
Ms Beatrice Mumbua, who was heading to Tanzania, told Nation they were stranded about six kilometres from the border since 7am.
The residents claimed the local was hit by a Tanzanian bus last week.
The road was cleared at about 11am.
